Highlights

  • Gross turnover increased by 13% to TZS 135.6 billion in 2005.
  • Net profit for the year declined slightly to TZS 17.05 billion in 2005 (from TZS 17.83 billion in 2004).
  • Profit before tax decreased by 7% to TZS 23.8 billion in 2005 (from TZS 25.6 billion in 2004).
  • Total gross dividend per share for 2005 was TZS 155.78, maintained at the same level as 2004.
  • Basic and diluted earnings per share decreased to TZS 170.51 in 2005 from TZS 178.39 in 2004.
  • The Company contributed a record TZS 59.3 billion to the Government Exchequer in excise tax and VAT in 2005, up 17% from 2004.
